Patti Smith Closes NY Fashion Week, Spring '09

Patti Smith played a show towards the end of NY Fashion Week hosted by Costume National.

This documentary film, "Patti Smith: Dream of Life", looks amazing. I wish I had checked it out while it was still in the theaters, because my Neflix queue is somewhat out of control at the moment.

Rachel Zoe Shuts It Down

"The Rachel Zoe Project" on Bravo is worth checking out, if anything for the famed stylist's designer vintage shopping binges.

Incidentally, before the show aired, just picked up a pair of "Rachel Zoe's picks" off of Piperlime and was totally enamored.

I Was Told There'd Be Cake

New York publicist Sloane Crosley has a book of essays out, "I Was Told There'd Be Cake", which was at the top of my summer reading list and now an aspiration for fall.

The book is a collection of first-person musings on life in the Big Apple. Current news on the horizon of its adaptation into a HBO series. Crosley has been reassured the series is more Larry David than "Sex in the City".
